WHAT - THE IDEA: THE FÚYU x LAIA ALEN
Maria and Laia, driven by their friendship and mutual admiration, as well as their shared passion for "mix and match" and versatile garments, decided to join forces to offer something different and unexpected. The creative tandem formed by the two brands, LAIA ALEN and THE FUYU, came together to remind us that in fashion, influences between brands can unite to create something even better.
In this context, they wanted to capture the textures and colors of LAIA ALEN in one of THE FUYU's iconic jackets. The result: The Alen, a collaborative jacket with print details and Asian-style buttons characteristic of THE FUYU. An eclectic and bold piece, somewhere between a blazer and a sweater. Fresh, versatile, and durable – adjectives that both brands take into account when creating.
The Alen, like all FUYU jackets, is handmade by specialized artisans. It's a very manual process – for example, the buttons are hand-woven and sewn with impeccable precision. Each jacket is a unique piece made with great care, which is why it's a limited edition. In terms of style, it’s a highly versatile piece that can be worn to a party, your best friend's wedding, or a regular Monday grocery run. A wardrobe essential – timeless and elegant.
WHEN, WHERE & HOW - THE PARTY: LAUNCH OF THE ALEN
On Thursday, January 19, 2023, the collaboration was launched at a dinner in Barcelona, in a clandestine venue belonging to the Tragaluz group. Guests and friends, creatives from different fields such as fashion styling, PR, or fashion, were invited by Alex Agullo and Paula Nata. They enjoyed a casual conversation while dancing to the latest C. Tangana songs and trying on different models from THE FUYU and LAIA ALEN, combining them with their own looks in a fun and fresh way.
